Do you live overseas and want to work as a live in carer in the UK? Read on for more information on what’s required to work and train here in the United Kingdom.
Firstly, please note that Independent People Homecare can only accept applications from people who already have the right to work in the UK. It’s also essential that your written and verbal English is of a good standard – it goes without saying that strong communication with our customers is an essential part of being a home carer.
We do offer full training to live in carers who join our team. However, it would also be useful if you already have experience working in a similar role. You could gain this experience through a work placement, from your personal life, or through volunteering in your community. We’d always recommend engaging in as many different care roles as possible to get a real feel for what the job entails.
We offer care placements in various locations around the UK, so if you’re currently based overseas but are looking to spend time working and travelling around the country, this is the perfect role for you!
Our live in care agency also offers work placements of varying lengths. You can decide to work 1 week on/1 week off, or you can commit to a longer-term placement with an individual if this is preferred. We will discuss your options with you in more detail if your application is successful.
